FAQ

Questions we get asked.

What is Signal Shift?

Signal Shift is an independent, outside-in decision diagnostic designed to help leadership pressure-test an important commercial move before committing significant time, money, credibility, or momentum.

It tests the assumptions behind the decision against current external evidence — and can return after the move to determine whether the market responded as expected.

Why can't I just ask ChatGPT whether my strategy will work?

You can.

AI can analyze the information and assumptions it's given. Signal Shift independently establishes and examines the external evidence against which those assumptions should be tested.

The difference isn't AI versus human. It's independent evidence + a structured methodology + experienced commercial judgment applied to a specific decision.

Does Signal Shift predict whether my decision will succeed?

No — and we won't give you a precise probability we can't defend.

Signal Shift evaluates how well the assumptions behind a decision are supported by current external evidence.

What information do you need from us?

To start: what the decision is, which lane it falls under, your timeline, and what's at stake. For the full Snapshot, a short conversation to make sure the evidence gathered is actually relevant to your specific situation — not a long questionnaire.

How is this different from consulting or market research?

Consulting typically helps shape the strategy. Market research gives you information to interpret. Signal Shift starts with a decision you're already considering, tests it against outside evidence, and gives you a direct read: Proceed, Adjust, or Reconsider — with the reasoning shown.

What does the $1,000 Decision Snapshot actually include?

A written read on one specific decision: what the evidence supports, what's uncertain, what's exposed if a key assumption is wrong, and a Proceed / Adjust / Reconsider recommendation with the reasoning behind it.

How long does it take?

3–5 business days after the intake conversation.

What information remains confidential?

Everything you share stays between us. Nothing is published, referenced, or used as a case study without your explicit sign-off first.

What happens after the Snapshot?

You get the written read directly. If it points to Adjust or Reconsider, that's yours to act on however you choose — there's no obligation to go further. If you want to talk through the implications directly, that's the Decision Working Session, a separate step.
